New water efficiency standards for MA, NY, and OR

Effective January 1, 2022, new water efficiency legislation went into effect for Massachusetts, New York, and Oregon.

These new rules will limit the maximum gallons per flush (GPF) and gallons per minute (GPM) of many plumbing products: 

  • Toilets 1.28 GPF (MA, NY, OR)
  • Urinals 0.5 GPF (MA, NY, OR)
  • Kitchen Faucets 1.8 GPM  (MA, OR); 2.2 GPM (NY)
  • Lavatory Faucets (Residential) 1.5 GPM (MA, NY); 1.2 GPM (OR)
  • Showerheads 2.0 GPM (MA, NY); 1.8 GPM (OR)
